Greetings!
Happy 2026! As I announced on my Instagram last year, Menmar will be leaving Tapas after 5 years and it will leave Amazon after a 4 year run. The reason behind it is the fact that Menmar will officially join Black Buffalo Publishing‘s catalogue on March 20th, 2026!

Menmar was long due to join said publisher’s catalogue, since I first joined them in July 2025. However, I felt that the earlier chapters were too different from the most recent ones, so I requested an extra time to make both a remaster and soft-retconning of the Prologue until Chapter 7’s first few pages so that everything would fit my current artistic style and narrative flow.
My request was promptly accepted and I’ve been working on remastering the older chapters; it’s something that both excites and terrifies me. I find it really exciting because I can finally give Menmar some well-deserved love and attention and making the narrative more concise along with artstyle. It also terrifies me, though, because it finally means the series is getting professional treatment.
Either way, this process is everything I’ve always dreamed of when I first joined the industry – back in 2012, when I was finishing high school, I always dreamed of the day I’d join the ranks of artists in publishing houses. I’m living one of my oldest dreams and I’m all for it!

Why Leave Said Platforms?
There are two answers for this question, each regarding a different platform.
The reason for leaving Tapas is a simple one – no more free-to-read comic book content. Per contract and since I don’t write for a hobby, Menmar has to leave any free-to-read platforms to make commercialization viable. Also, I do feel publishing platforms are a temporary solution to a newcomer’s market entrance problem rather than a permanent medium, so I had no qualms with this condition – on the contrary, I can’t tell you how eager I’ve always been to leave free-to-read platforms.
Regarding Amazon, it comes down to how the platform handles the digital content and the issues I’ve had over the past two years. And since I’m don’t have an English-speaking publishing house to call home yet, I’ve decided to honour my Brazilian one with the translated content on Google Books, and the same goes for the Spanish version of it.
Yes, I want to give Menmar a Spanish version as soon as I’m able! However, it won’t debut on March 20th for I won’t be able to work in it along with the ongoing artwork. However, I can assure you there will be English and Spanish versions along with the Portuguese one. Someday I might get publishing houses from those languages to grace my work, right? A woman can dream…
Why March 20th, 2026?
Menmar is heavily inspired in Zoroastrianism – both for religious and cultural reasons. This year’s March 20th marks Nowruz, also known as Iranian New Year, whose roots lie in Zoroastrianism. It’s a holiday observed by many, and I usually reference it with theMonthly illustrations of Deyeroz/March (like the ones from 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025).
Therefore, it’s safe to say that Menmar observes Nowruz as a canonical date for New Year (although it is moved to be the last day of March instead). Naturally, this fact made it easier to choose this date to deliver everything I need to.
Now that I have re-created my YouTube channel and bound it to my Twitch and TikTok accounts, you can expect to see me more on a regular basis. Do not worry – even though I’ll be streaming in Portuguese most of the time, there will be auto-generated captions in English and Spanish for you to follow through it, regardless of the content’s length or form.
Also, the website will be updated in a few days’ time – I need to update the comic books projects’ individual pages to feature direct links once the free-to-read content is gone for good.
We’ll be speaking soon enough! Stay tuned for more!
Kind Regards,
IridiumArt.
