Greetings!

From Drylands to Lax Wires‘ season has officially begun! Since I already introduced Aylie’s redesigns for this oneshot, I feel it is time to introduce the ensemble cast for Aylie’s farewell!

As I did previously for A Court of Dreams, I’ll be presenting From Drylands’ ensemble cast! I already began with Zófia, who belongs to Thais’ nobility; therefore, it’s time to present the one who she and all other Thaian nobles must answer to – King Lothar IV!

Profile Overview

King Lothar IV of House Tiresias is the current Emperor of the Empire of Thais; he is the 14th king after King Tibianus III, who passed away in the Year 730 after ruling for 35 years. King Lothar IV was born to Queen Adelaide and Emperor Yorik III – his father preferred to style himself as emperor, whereas Lothar prefers not to.

Lothar wasn’t supposed to be the Emperor – he was the thirdborn son, and his brothers Felix (also know as Felix the Brave) and Conrad (also known as Conrad the Poet) were expected to be Emperors instead. However, war claimed Felix’s life before he could have children and Conrad drowned during a voyage to the North, which unexpectedly opened the way for Lothar’s ascension as King, which happened in the Year 1015.

His health and meager countenance earned him the nickname “The Frail“, and his two previously barren marriages made his early reign marred by instability. However, the birth of the twins Bastian and Helga – the children of this third marriage to Sigrid of Vandura – finally calmed the Thaian Court down, but it wasn’t enough to make Lothar IV sure of himself or the continuation of his dynasty.

Although dilligent, just and caring, King Lothar is a sullen, reclusive man who hates being at court more than necessary, and even 14 years of reign didn’t seem enough to reassure him.
