Greetings!

Another month, another Menmar Monthly Art! Menmar completes 5 years since the first time I published it, and I’ve been using those illustrations as way for you to get to know more about this universe while I get some other projects done before coming back to it!

In the world of Roshan, the year starts on the Month of Ameroz, per Azorian Calendar. Like I’ve been doing for the previous three posts, it is time for more insights on Menmar’s universe, which will come in handy for past and future works of mine!

The Month of Ameroz

The Month of Ameroz equals to April on our real-life calendar. It is both the first month of the year and first month of Summer in the world of Roshan, marking a new year, new opportunities and new beginnings. The name Ameroz is roughly translated to “new day” or “tomorrow”.

It is custom for Azorians to make new year resolutions during Ameroz’ first week, ranging from solving old problems to pipeline dreams. Since it marks the beginning of the Summer, it also means it’s time to unfurl the sails and head out to the sea.

The wind grows slighlty hotter and stronger during Ameroz, which signals for fishermen that their prime times began; hardened cattle and camel troops can be seen more frequently roaming around Azoria. Summer is the birthing season for Camels, and those that have enough coin see this as an opportunity to purchase their very first Camel, be it a baby or a full-grown animal.
